According to the news on November 1, like Apple firmly dominates the high-end smartphone market in the United States, Tesla also firmly occupies a dominant position in the US electric car market, with sales far higher than those of other manufacturers.

Driven by the year-on-year increase in sales by manufacturers such as Tesla, the US market sold 873000 electric vehicles in the first three quarters of this year and is expected to exceed 1 million for the whole year, according to the agency.

Of the 873000 electric vehicles sold in the first three quarters, 493513 were Tesla electric vehicles, accounting for 56.53 per cent.

The agency's data also show that in the first three quarters of last year, Tesla sold 390814 electric vehicles in the United States, compared with 493513 in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 26 percent over the same period last year.

Among other manufacturers, Chevrolet sold 49531 electric vehicles in the United States in the first three quarters; Ford sold 46671; Hyundai sold 41296; Rivian, known as Tesla's competitor, sold 36636 electric vehicles in the United States in the first three quarters; BMW sold 31043 electric vehicles; Mercedes-Benz sold 29686; and Volkswagen sold 27155 electric vehicles. Kia sold 22891 electric vehicles, down from 24468 in the same period last year, down from a year earlier, while Audi sold 17628 electric vehicles in the United States in the first three quarters.

According to the data of research institutions, the sales of Tesla electric vehicles in the United States in the first three quarters were nearly 10 times that of Chevrolet, the second highest seller, and more than 10 times for other manufacturers, compared with competitors. Tesla's sales are "far ahead".
