Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, November 1, according to the latest data from TechInsights, global shipments of Q3 laptops totaled 51.2 million units in 2023, down 7% from a year earlier, the first time the market decline has slowed to single digits since Q1 in 2022.

▲ drawing source TechlnsightsCTOnews.com with shipments from various manufacturers:

Lenovo shipped 12.2 million units, accounting for 24% of the market share, down 5% from a year earlier.

Hewlett-Packard shipped 10.3 million units, accounting for 20% of the market share, up 7% from a year earlier.

Dell shipped 8.2 million units, accounting for 16% of the market share, down 10% from a year earlier.

Apple shipped 5.7 million units, accounting for 11% of the market share, down 30% from a year earlier.

Asustek shipped 3.8 million units, accounting for 8% of the market share, down 10% from the same period last year.

Other brands shipped 11 million units, with a market share of 21 per cent, down 2 per cent from a year earlier.

As can be seen from the data released by TechInsights, Hewlett-Packard became the only brand among TOP5 manufacturers to achieve a 7 per cent increase in shipments, compared with Apple, which fell by 30 per cent. With the release of the new Macbook notebook with M3 series chips, I wonder if Apple can recover from its decline.

▲ Tuyuan Apple website TechInsights analysis said that although the laptop market demand is still weak, especially in the commercial market, but the slowdown in the pace of decline shows that the market has passed the worst. The laptop market is slowly recovering and will push the market into growth in 2024 as support for Windows 10 ends in 2025 and the update cycle arrives.

CTOnews.com previously reported that according to a report released by Jibang Consulting, the notebook market inventory began to show a healthy trend in Q2 this year, which is even more pronounced in Q3. The notebook market is expected to rebound in 2024, with annual shipments growing by 2-5 per cent.
