CTOnews.com, November 1 (Xinhua)-- Security expert Anthony in September this year unveiled an attack tool called Flipper Zero, which costs only $170. it can send false radio signals to nearby smartphones and other devices, and achieve a denial of service (denial-of-service) attack through dense Bluetooth pop-up windows.

The tool was initially targeted only at iOS devices and later proved to be able to attack Android and Windows devices. Software developer Simon Dankelmann has developed an app called Bluetooth-LE-Spam that can attack nearby Windows and Android devices without using Flipper Zero hardware.

The project is still in its early stages of development, but the test results are the same as those of Flipper Zero hardware, CTOnews.com reported, citing BleepingComputer.

The app can broadcast connection requests at intervals of once per second to launch attacks against the "Swift Pair" of Fast Pair and Windows devices on Android phones.

However, the destructive power of the app is limited at this stage, and attacks can only be effective within a few centimeters.

In addition, Bluetooth connected devices such as mice and keyboards may become unresponsive during spam broadcasts. This is another way to launch a destructive denial of service attack on the target.
