CTOnews.com, Nov. 1, according to auto media carscoops, Toyota is cautiously developing the next-generation sports car and is expected to show 2026 sixth-generation GR Supra in 2025, using BMW's ICE and EV platforms.

Best Car earlier this year, it was revealed that Toyota Supra Mk6 will take the pure electric route, but the latest rumors suggest that this is not the case.

Carscoops revealed that Toyota plans to launch an ICE version of Supra,2026 in 2025 and a hybrid version in 2010.

Although there is no official confirmation, it is believed that the next-generation Supra's internal combustion power system may be based on the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine currently purchased from BMW.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Toyota may adopt electrification such as mild hybrid, full hybrid and even plug-in hybrid technology. The BMW XM platform is already equipped with PHEV powertrain, and the upcoming M5 may use a similar setting.
