Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 1 (Xinhua)-- the latest research data predict that the new solar maximum (solar maximum) will break out in the middle or end of next year, one year ahead of schedule. Astronomers say that if we can find out the reason for its advance, we can further deepen our understanding of the sun and stars.
CTOnews.com Note: the solar maximum is the most active period in a normal solar cycle of about 11 years. When the sun is at its maximum, there will be a large number of sunspots, and solar radiation will increase by about 0.07%.
Increased solar energy output may affect the climate in some areas, and some recent studies have shown some correlation with regional climate models. Because the sun rotates faster at the equator than at the poles, the sun's magnetic field lines are most strongly distorted during the solar maximum.
The industry consensus had been that solar activity would peak in July 2025, while based on the latest observations, the solar peak was a year ahead of schedule, and sunspot activity was ostensibly twice the official forecast.
The project is led by Robert Leamon and Scott McIntosh of NASA.
