Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
On Tuesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk participated in a podcast focusing on the electric pickup Cybertruck, such as vehicle weight, 100-kilometer acceleration and protection capabilities. He also said Tesla's goal is to produce 200,000 electric pickup trucks per year.
Earlier, Tesla had said they had the capacity to produce more than 125,000 Cybertrucks per year. Musk said on Tuesday's Joe Rogan Experience podcast that that number could grow to 250,000 by 2025.
Delivery of the highly anticipated electric pickup will begin Nov. 30, nearly four years after its debut. At the time, Musk showed the audience a series of tests, including breaking the car's "armored glass" windows with metal balls.
In the podcast, Musk again emphasized the difficulty of producing Cybertruck. "Our goal is to produce about 200,000 Cybertrucks per year, maybe a little more, but I would stress that manufacturing is much more difficult than the original design," he said. "
On an earnings call earlier this month, Musk also lamented: "Introducing Cybertruck is Tesla digging its own grave! He also said there could be "significant challenges" to increasing production and achieving positive cash flow.
Asked about the pickup's weight, Musk said the electric pickup weighs between 6000 and 7000 pounds (2721 to 3175 kilograms) depending on configuration options. "It depends on the configuration, but it's around 7000 pounds," he said. There are different versions, all weighing between 6000 and 7000 pounds. "
Musk added: "This is a heavy truck. He agreed that "the Cybertruck's weight is comparable to that of a Ford F-250."
In addition to discussing the Cybertruck's weight, Musk also discussed acceleration time and protection capabilities.
Musk revealed that Tesla is working hard to limit Cybertruck acceleration from 0 to 60 miles (about 96 kilometers) to less than three seconds. Only a "Beast Mode" version of Cybertruck can achieve this acceleration, as Musk described in the discussion.
Musk also discussed Cybertruck's defensive capabilities. Someone previously shared the results of the bow test on Instagram and joked that "Cybertruck can also resist bows! "
According to tests Tesla conducted earlier this month, including testing the Cybertruck with a Thompson submachine gun, the results showed that the bullet did not penetrate the stainless steel panel, so guessing the results of the bow test is not particularly difficult. Musk also said Tesla has conducted other firearms tests on electric pickup trucks, including shotguns.
