Since Apple launched the MacBook product with M1 chip, what has often been criticized by users is that it can only be connected to one monitor. Apple subsequently released M1 Pro and M1 Max chips to achieve the support of external 2max 3 monitors.

Connect up to two external monitors with resolution up to 6K (60Hz) through Leili port, or connect an external monitor with resolution up to 6K (60Hz) through Leili port, and connect an external monitor with resolution up to 4K (144Hz) through HDMI port.

Connect an external monitor with a resolution up to 8K (60Hz) or an external monitor with a resolution up to 4K (240Hz) through the HDMI port

The M3 Max model also supports a built-in display at the initial resolution (which can display 1 billion colors) and:

Up to four external monitors: connect up to three external monitors with a resolution of up to 6K (60 Hz) through the Leili port and one external monitor with a resolution of up to 4K (144Hz) through the HDMI port

Up to three external monitors: connect up to two external monitors with a resolution of up to 6K (60Hz) through the Leili port, and connect an external monitor with a resolution of up to 8K (60Hz) or an external monitor with a resolution of up to 4K (240Hz) through the HDMI port
