After Task Sequences is created, we need to adjust the partition before deployment of our deployed operating system. It should be noted that only the creation and adjustment of disk primary partitions can be carried out. Since MDT2008, MDT no longer supports the creation of extended partitions and logical partitions. The default MBR sector partition is recommended. If multiple partitions are needed, GPT format partition is recommended.

1. Right-click the Windows 10 Task Sequences we created above and select Properties:

Hide this task sequence in the deployment wizard

Enable this task sequence: Display this task sequence when deployed

Preinstall New Computer onlyFormat and Partition Disk:

4. Perform partition operation on system C disk according to the following identification sequence:

5. Set D disk partition information as shown in the figure:

Use a percentage of remaining free space is the percentage of partitions, i.e. 100% is to set the overall format as a partition;Use specific size is to allocate a fixed partition size

7. Click Apply OK to complete the disk partitioning operation:

Note: If we are only formatting C disk operation, we only need to check Disable this step under the Options column in the Format and Partition Disk option box to disable this step, so MDT will only format the existing system partition when deploying the client, and other drive data will not be changed or lost. It is recommended not to skip this step for a fresh deployment, but disable it when performing an upgrade or refresh operation.
