Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, Oct. 31, according to the Science and Technology Daily, Galaxy Aerospace recently successfully implemented the first terminal-to-terminal (Terminal to Terminal,T2T) Leo satellite communication test in China.

▲ Tuyuan Galaxy Aerospace reported that the test means that the satellite ground terminals communicate directly through the switching equipment on the satellite, without the need to transfer data through the ground gateway. In this working mode, because the transit link of the gateway station is omitted, the communication delay can be reduced by 50%, and the flexibility and availability of the whole system can be improved.

The significance of this test is to provide a more flexible communication mode for satellite communication. In remote areas such as polar regions and distant seas, satellite communications can be carried out even without the coverage of customs stations.

▲ Tu Yuan Galaxy Aerospace official website, the same as CTOnews.com query, Galaxy Aerospace is one of the domestic commercial aerospace enterprises, put into operation in April 2018, founded by Xu Ming, co-founder / former president of Cheetah Mobile.

On July 23, Galaxy Space Telescope 03 was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite launch Center using a long March 2d carrier rocket, the satellite entered the scheduled orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success. Galaxy Space Telescope 03 is China's first flat-plate communication satellite using flexible solar wings. This launch is also the first time for China to verify the multi-satellite stacking launch technology in orbit, which will provide technical support for the rapid deployment of Leo communication satellite constellations in China.

It is reported that the satellite is equipped with a millimeter wave beam digital load with a capacity of tens of gigabits per second, which is used to verify the next generation of low-orbit broadband satellite communications and technologies such as super-large energy, active thermal control, industrial integrated structure, and multi-satellite stack compression and release.

Unlike most satellites in the past, which have a pair of "wings", which usually use rigid solar wings, Galaxy Space Telescope 03 has only one "wing" and is very thin flexible solar wings. The thickness of single-layer flexible solar panels is only about 1 mm. It can be folded like a folding fan, folded when installed in a rocket, and the main body is less than 5 centimeters thick. When working in orbit, this "flexible wing" is about 9 meters long and more than 2.5 meters wide.
