CTOnews.com, October 31 (Xinhua)-- PC peripherals manufacturer Logitech International (Logitech International) on Monday appointed Hanneke Faber as its new CEO (CEO), effective December 1.

According to Logitech officials, Hanneke has more than 30 years of global business leadership experience in a variety of consumer goods, B2B and e-commerce businesses. She has driven multibillion-dollar business growth and major transformations at Unilever, Achdell Hayes and Procter & Gamble.

Prior to joining Logitech, Hanneke served as Group President at Unilever, where he was responsible for leading the $14 billion (currently about 102.62 billion yuan) nutrition business. Her responsibilities cover more than 150 countries, including global brands, research and development, B2B Unilever food solutions business and a supply chain of about 60 factories and contract manufacturers around the world.

Logitech's last CEO, Bracken Darrell, left in June to join VF Corp, a maker of Vans sneakers. Logitech said last week that it was close to finding a new CEO.

Logitech also raised its full-year forecast after reporting profit growth and slowing the decline in sales in the second quarter ended Sept. 30.

In September, Logitech co-founder Daniel Borel called on the company to find a new chairman, opposed Wendy Becker to continue the position, and said Logitech lost its way under the leadership of Becker.

According to Logitech's second-quarter results, Logitech's cumulative revenue in the first six months was $2.032 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 14.895 billion yuan), compared with $2.309 billion in the same period last year (currently about 16.925 billion yuan), down 12.01 percent from a year earlier.

Logitech's cumulative net profit in the previous six months was US $200 million (currently about 1.466 billion yuan), compared with US $183 million (currently about 1.341 billion yuan) in the same period last year, an increase of 9.25% over the same period last year.
