CTOnews.com notes that the General Technical Requirements for Immersive Terminals are applicable to system design, equipment production, system construction, project construction, technical quality evaluation, performance testing, etc. of immersive terminals such as immersive houses, ball screens, ring screens, bowl screens and small immersive terminals.

It is not applicable to conventional cinemas, head-mounted terminals such as VR helmets and VR glasses, and immersive facilities constructed using environments and non-audiovisual devices.

According to the Requirements, immersive terminals shall adopt independent or multiple display surface combination presentation mode. Except for small immersive terminals, at the best viewing position, the viewing angle of the viewable picture shall not be less than 135° (horizontal) ×80° (vertical);70% of the viewing area can be viewed. The viewing angle of the human eye shall not be less than 120° (horizontal) ×70° (vertical), and it shall have complete signal playback, transmission and control functions.

Except for small immersive terminals, the viewing distance between the center of the immersive terminal display surface and the nearest position of the audience shall not be less than 0.3 times the width of the display surface directly in front, and shall not be greater than 1 time the width of the display surface directly in front.

According to the Requirements, immersive terminals shall ensure smooth display, clear sound and synchronization of sound and picture; there shall be no signal stagnation and delay, no picture color cast, no sound distortion and other defects. The display surface shall ensure that the picture is continuous, and there shall be no obvious physical and optical cracks in the field of view. If the display surface area needs to be installed with lighting, speakers and other equipment, the integrity of the display surface shall be ensured.

Viewers viewing the images on the immersive terminal at the closest allowed position, the content and physical pixels of the display surface shall not be visible.

Immersion terminal shall not have potential safety hazards such as equipment power consumption, installation structure, visual and hearing hazards, personal protection hazards, etc., and shall not cause obvious dizziness, nausea and other discomfort to the audience during use.

Brightness:

Immersive terminal with spherical display surface, the brightness of screen center shall not be less than 10cd / m², and shall not be less than 15cd / m². For immersive terminals with curved or multi-plane display surfaces, the brightness at the center of the screen shall not be less than 50cd / m², preferably not less than 60cd / m².

Self-luminous display equipment, the maximum brightness of the screen should not be less than 50cd / m², not more than 500cd / m²; in the dark environment should not be greater than 300 cd/ m².

Contrast:

For projection display equipment, the sequential contrast ratio shall not be less than 2000:1, and the intra-frame contrast ratio shall not be less than 10:1, preferably not less than 20:1.

Self-luminous display equipment, measured at brightness not greater than 500cd / m², sequential contrast ratio shall not be less than 3000:1, intra-frame contrast ratio shall not be less than 100:1.

Color gamut should support BT.709 color gamut, DCI-P3 color gamut or BT.2020 color gamut.
