The sub-meter precision positioning of ordinary 5G mobile phone terminal and low-power high-precision positioning (LPHAP) terminal is realized.

According to reports, this technical verification strictly follows the "5G Cellular location Technical requirements" and "5G Cellular location Test method" formulated by the IMT-2020 (5G) Propulsion Group, using Huawei wireless LampSite base station and resident 5G core network LCS (Location Service) module, and through the test of ordinary 5G mobile phone terminals and terminals using Zhilian 5G low-power and high-precision positioning chips, the positioning accuracy can reach up to 0.4m (LOS scene).

CTOnews.com learned from the announcement that this technical verification applied the enhanced RedCap UE technology scheme, which is based on the RedCap terminal of 3GPP Rel-17 to send large bandwidth SRS in Inactive state, ensuring high-precision positioning while greatly reducing power consumption. The verification results meet the expectations, which provides key support for the standardization of low-power and high-precision positioning and the development of related industry chain.
