In September 2023, the total volume of imports and exports of automobile goods increased by 3.8% month-on-month, an increase of 15.7% over the same period last year.

Among them, the value of imports increased by 0.47% month-on-month, down 5.4% from the same period last year, while the value of exports increased by 5% month-on-month, up 26% from the same period last year.

From January to September 2023, the cumulative total volume of imports and exports of automobile goods increased by 14.6% compared with the same period last year.

Among them, the value of imports decreased by 18% compared with the same period last year, while the value of exports increased by 33.9% compared with the same period last year.

According to data from the China Automobile Association earlier this month, in September 2023, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 879,000 and 904000 respectively, an increase of 16.1% and 27.7% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 31.6%.

From January to September this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 631.3 million and 6.278 million respectively, an increase of 33.7% and 37.5% respectively over the same period last year, and the market share reached 29.8%.

In September, China exported 444000 cars, an increase of 9 percent over the previous month and 47.7 percent over the same period last year. From January to September, car exports were 3.388 million, up 60 per cent from a year earlier. The export growth rate of new energy vehicles is significantly higher than that of traditional fuel vehicles.

Of these, 96000 new energy vehicles were exported, up 92.8 percent from January to September, and 825000 new energy vehicles were exported, an increase of 1.1 percent over the same period last year.
