CTOnews.com, October 30 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest monthly tracking of China's Smart tablet online Retail Market released by RUNTO, retail volume in China's consumer smart tablet online open retail market (excluding content e-commerce such as Doukuai) was 2.834 million in the third quarter of 2023, up 20.0% from the same period last year, with sales of 8.41 billion yuan, up 15.3% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the TOP4 brands are Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Glory, with a combined share of 64.7%. Apple still ranks first on the list, with a share of 33.3%, down 2.0 percentage points from the same period last year. As the company did not release a competitive new tablet this quarter, the market response strategy is to reduce the price of old products.

Huawei ranked second on the list, with online sales up 2.3% in the third quarter from a year earlier, and the brand rose to the top with its new MatePad 11.5 in the 1000-2000 yuan range in the third quarter. Xiaomi's sales share was 10.2%, an increase of 3.8% over the same period last year, and the new Redmi Pad SE helped Xiaomi rank first in the price range below 1000 yuan. Glory ranked fourth, with sales up 45.7% in the third quarter compared with the same period a year earlier.

Other manufacturers who made the list include Lenovo, iFLYTEK, vivo, Xiaodu, Korean audience and iQOO. OPPO, which ranked 10th last year, fell out of the top 10 in the third quarter of this year. Loto technology analysis said that this is due to the slow pace of new products on the market, coupled with the lack of significant product advantages.

Loto Technology predicts that the online market for consumer-grade smart tablets in China will exceed 12.28 million units in 2023, an increase of about 6.1 per cent year-on-year.
