CTOnews.com, Oct. 30, according to WindowsCentral, Microsoft Xbox officially implemented a new policy from November 17, which will prohibit users from using unauthorized accessories, such as handles, headphones, converters, etc.

Some users of unauthorized accessories have received an error message 0x82d60002 on their Xbox indicating that "using unauthorized accessories will affect your gaming experience and will be blocked on November 12, 2023." And direct them to Xbox's official website to check the authorized accessories.

Other users reported that the "cheap version" of the third-party handle they bought could no longer be used on Xbox hosts.

CTOnews.com notes that some brands that make third-party gaming accessories, such as Brook Gaming, are already feeling the pressure of this change. They posted a statement on X saying that some of their products had malfunctioned on Xbox and promised that their engineering team was working hard to find a solution.

It should be noted that officially certified third-party accessories, such as Turtle Beach, Lucid Sound, Razer and other brands that are common on our "Best Xbox headphones" and "Best Xbox handles" lists, it is not clear whether this policy will affect XIM accessories that can simulate mouse and keyboard input.
