Ferrari announced the launch of a new version of the Le Mans winning supercar, the 499p Modificata, which is even better than the Le Mans champion. The Ferrari 499p Modificata is very similar in appearance to the 499p, with a starting price of 5.1 million euros before tax (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 39.423 million yuan).

The 499p Modificata carries a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a maximum output power of 520kW (700hp) and a motor on the front axle. The hybrid system can achieve a "Push to pass" boost of up to 7 seconds and can provide a further 120 kW (about 160hp) of power, with a total power of about 640kW (860hp).

The extra power is only available when the throttle is pushed to the full throttle and the duration of each activation does not exceed 7 seconds. The maximum number of activation per lap depends on the track type and the battery energy balance: the system automatically deactivates when it falls below a certain charging threshold and then reactivates when the battery is recharged to the appropriate level.

The car thoroughly recalibrated the suspension settings, electronic controllers and engine mappings and used custom Pirelli tyres instead of the Michelin tyres used in the FIA World Endurance Championships.

The 499p Modificata retains the 499p cockpit, single-seat layout and ergonomic design, providing owners with exactly the same driving experience as Le Mans 24-hour endurance racing drivers.
