CTOnews.com, October 29 (Xinhua) California Governor Gavin Newsom (Gavin Newsom) announced that California will allocate $40.5 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 296 million yuan) federal funds for the construction of electric vehicle (EV) fast charging piles.

The federal money will be used to build 270 fast charging piles for electric vehicles at 26 locations along California highways.

The money comes from the U.S. Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), and the state is expected to receive more than $380 million (currently about 2.782 billion yuan) for the construction of 6600 miles (10621.67 kilometers) of electric vehicle corridors, equipped with at least four fast charging piles every 50 miles.

"We will use this money to serve the people of California by building electric vehicle charging piles across the state, while we will continue to put more clean cars on the road," said the map press release of California's National Electric vehicle Infrastructure funding Program. "

Other related funding sources include the Federal National Electric vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, which aims to create a fast charging network from east coast to west coast, and a California NEVI deployment plan approved by the Federal Highway Administration, which gives California access to $81.7 million (currently about 598 million yuan).
