"We have more than 1 million paid copilot users in more than 37000 organizations that subscribe to copilot business services, which is very attractive outside the United States."

Mr Nadella said Copilot's recently added Copilot Chat feature "has been used by digital native companies such as Shopify and leading companies such as Maersk and PricewaterhouseCoopers to increase the productivity of their software developers".

CTOnews.com noted that Microsoft's Bing search engine has been integrated with OpenAI's ChatGPT and has so far given users "more than 1.9 billion chats".

He noted that the market share of Microsoft Edge browsers has grown for 10 consecutive quarters. "this quarter, we introduced new personalized answers and support for DALL-E 3 to help people get more relevant answers and create extremely realistic images. So far, we have created more than 1.8 billion images."

Wall Street expects Microsoft to reap huge financial returns from its partnership with startup OpenAI, which has invested more than $10 billion in OpenAI. Some Wall Street analysts estimate that the partnership could one day bring Microsoft $100 billion.
