Thanks CTOnews.com netizen soft media new friend 2xrpri for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, October 29 (Xinhua)-- UAW (United Auto Workers) announced on Saturday local time that it would expand the scope of GM's strike, this time involving GM's plant in Spring Mountain, Tennessee, according to Reuters, electrek and other foreign media reports.

Shortly before the strike in Tennessee, UAW said it had reached a temporary labor agreement with Stellantis.

CTOnews.com Note: GM's plant in Spring Hill is the company's largest in North America, with nearly 4000 employees. The plant supplies engines and other parts to assembly plants for other pick-up trucks, sports cars and SUV models, as well as for the production of Lyriq, a large pure electric SUV model in Cadillac.

Shawn Fain, chairman of UAW, said the strike at the plant in Chunshan was ordered because GM was "hesitant" in the face of contract terms based on UAW's agreement with Ford on Wednesday and with Stellantis on Saturday. "We are disappointed that GM has unnecessarily and irresponsibly refused to reach a fair deal."

GM responded that it was disappointed with the strike and was still seeking to "reach an agreement as soon as possible."
