Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Alejandro86 for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, October 28, the "Anti-Terrorism Elite 2" development team recently interviewed foreign media PC Gamer and answered all kinds of questions about the past, present and future.

When asked if many players are concerned about "whether they plan to add new weapons to their new work", the development team replied in the affirmative:

Right. Although this is not a top priority at present, we definitely plan to introduce some new weapons for "CS2". We are always looking for ways for players to make more interesting decisions in the game, so we usually consider whether players do not have or have only a few suitable tools to deal with specific situations. and where the game has become a little outdated, what weapons may change the status quo.

In the decade since the launch of CS:GO, the team has occasionally learned "painful lessons" about how to carefully introduce new weapons into the game, and says it has "mastered the solution to the problem in the future", the development team said. With the new customizable assembly system in "CS2", the development team believes that the launch of new weapons is expected to become easier.

This "lesson" dates back to 2015, when the development team introduced a weapon, the revolver R8, as an alternative to the Desert Eagle pistol in CS:GO. However, the strength of this weapon is too high, leading professional players and ordinary players to complain that it has greatly upset the balance of the game. "We have learned a lot from R8, one of which is to be more careful when launching new weapons or making major changes to weapons, which need to be tested by players before they can be put into use."

According to Valve officials, counter-Terrorism Elite 2 is a free upgrade of "CS:GO", showing the biggest technological leap in the history of "counter-Terrorism Elite" (Counter Strike). The work is built by the Source 2 engine and features realistic physics-based rendering, state-of-the-art networking, and upgraded community creative workshop tools.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, with the release of the game update of "counter-Terrorism Elite 2" earlier this month, the V Society announced that it would stop supporting "CS:GO". "next, CTE 2 will focus on supporting 64-bit Windows and Linux. If you cannot start CTE 2 with your current hardware, you can also access the older version of CS:GO. Support for CS:GO will end on January 1, 2024," the V news agency said.

According to reports, this means that the old version of "CS:GO" can still be played, but there is no official matching function, it will no longer be maintained after January 1, 2024, and subsequent problems will no longer be solved.
