CTOnews.com, Oct. 28, AMD plans to release new Thread Ripper (Storm Peak) and Thread Ripper Pro processors on November 21. Before the official release, the thread ripper Pro 7985WX processor appeared in the GeekBench running library, 20% higher than 5995WX.

CTOnews.com note: at present, there are three running records for thread tearing Pro 7985WX processors on the GeekBench running score database, including a 6.0.0 record showing a single core score of 2599 and a multi-core score of 24780.

In contrast, the single core score of the thread tearing Pro 5995WX was 2033 and the multi-core score was 20105. For the new Zen 4 Threatripper Pro 7985WX, the multicore score is 20% higher.

In GeekBench version 6.0.3, Intel's Xeon Platinum 8490H processor scored 1842 for single core and 16308 for multicore, 41.1 per cent slower than AMD's new 7985WX.
