CTOnews.com news on October 27, Perfect World today released the third quarter report of 2023. In the first three quarters, operating income reached 6.196 billion yuan, an increase of 8.48 percent over the same period last year; net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was 615 million yuan, down 57.37 percent from the same period last year; and basic earnings per share was 0.32 yuan.

Of this total, the operating income in the third quarter was 1.736 billion yuan, down 2.94% from the same period last year; the net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was 235 million yuan, down 22.89% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that in the first three quarters, Perfect World's film and television business revenue increased by 519.84% over the same period last year, while game business revenue decreased by 3.16% over the same period last year. After deducting non-recurring profits and losses, the company realized a net profit of 457 million yuan belonging to shareholders of listed companies, down 50.34% from the same period last year.

Of this total, the net profit of the game business after deducting non-recurring profits and losses was 641 million yuan, down 40.56% from the same period last year.

Perfect World said that during the reporting period, at the industry level, Xinyou made intensive releases, occupying space in the stock game market; at the corporate level, due to the impact of the product cycle, fewer new games were launched, while the flow of games in the camp naturally declined with the life cycle, and the contribution to performance decreased compared with the same period last year.

At present, games such as "the Goddess: the Phantom of the Night", "Superman: the World", "deviant million King Arthur: ring", "Light Ink Land 2", "Zhu Xian 2" and "Code: new World" developed by Perfect World are under active research and development. PC game products "Zhu Xian World" and "Perfect New World" are expected to open a new round of testing in the near future. In addition, the original IP two-dimensional urban theme open world adventure games, the original IP two-dimensional fantasy theme open world games, and the domestic sci-fi animation masterpiece "Linglong" IP multiplayer open world games are also in steady progress.
