MediaTek's third-quarter operating profit was NT $52.192 billion (currently about 11.795 billion yuan), an increase of 11.9% from a month earlier, a decrease of 25.5% from a year earlier, and a gross profit margin of 47.4%, down 0.1% from the previous quarter and 1.9% from the same period last year.

MediaTek's third-quarter net profit was 18.48 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 4.176 billion yuan), down 40% from a year earlier, with an estimated NT $16.79 billion.

MediaTek said that revenue in the third quarter increased compared with the previous quarter, mainly due to some customers replenishing inventory. Revenue decreased in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, mainly due to a decline in terminal demand.

The increase in net profit, net interest rate and earnings per share in the third quarter compared with the previous quarter was mainly due to higher revenue in the current quarter than in the previous quarter. The third quarter net profit, current net profit and earnings per share decreased compared with the same period last year, mainly due to lower revenue and gross profit margin in the current quarter than in the same period last year.
