The Finnish company announced in September that it would expand its product portfolio and launch phones with its own HMD brand.

According to the latest report from ET, Ravi Kunwar, HMD Global's vice president in charge of India and the Asia-Pacific region, said that the new HMD Global brand will be launched in the first half of 2024, and India is its main target market.

The company intends to build a comprehensive product ecosystem by launching various HMD-branded products, such as smartphones, tablets, feature phones and Internet of things devices.

These HMD-branded products will be priced differently in different markets and will be designed to cater to specific consumer groups and distinguish them from Nokia's product line.

The company plans to produce all HMD-branded equipment in India and export it to other regions. HMD Global has apparently partnered with Foxconn, Dixon and Lava to produce smartphones in India. In addition, they are also exporting feature phones to the African market.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Jean-Francois Baril, co-founder, chairman and CEO of HMD Global, revealed on the LinkedIn page: "users can look forward to a new portfolio of HMD-branded mobile devices, as well as Nokia devices and exciting new partners."
