CTOnews.com, October 27, Canonical recently announced the code name "Noble Numbat" of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and announced that it has entered the development phase.

The marsupial anteater, once found throughout southern Australia, now lives in only a few areas and is an endangered species.

Canonical said that Ubuntu 24.04 LTS has now officially entered the development phase, starting automatic synchronization from the upstream Debian.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Ubuntu 24.04 LTS stable Edition is scheduled to be released on April 25, 2024.

According to the roadmap, the function will be frozen on February 29 next year, after which no major new features will be added without request and approval, and various BUG will be fixed to improve system stability.

Canonical plans to release Ubuntu 24.04 Beta on April 4 next year, and will undergo weeks of intensive testing to identify and resolve any noteworthy issues.
