According to reports, the factory is located in Zhuhai Fushan Industrial Park, covers an area of 185200 square meters, has 4 factories and 15 automatic production lines, mainly produces zinc-iron flow batteries. The plant has more than 300 robots to undertake precision and heavy work, whether one-arm snatch 200kg heavy objects or absorb the "thin as a cicada wing" proton exchange membrane, the accuracy can reach ±0.1mm.
The staff of the production workshop said that Weijing Energy Storage independently developed the intelligent production line of liquid flow battery with the highest automation rate in the industry, and created the first pulsating line of liquid flow battery (system integration line). Each production line takes only 20 minutes to complete the assembly of a finished battery, and the production efficiency is increased dozens of times.
GE Qun, co-founder and chairman of Weijing Energy Storage, said that compared with traditional lithium batteries, zinc-iron flow batteries contain alkaline electrolyte, do not burn or explode, have low life cycle electricity cost, and can achieve long-term energy storage for 4-8 hours.
Grain Rain, vice president of the company, said in an interview with Nanfang Daily earlier this year that the new type of energy storage is often compared to "giant portable battery", which can store new energy generation when electricity consumption is low and release its own electricity when electricity consumption is at its peak, thus greatly improving the efficiency of new energy grid connection. Among them, the large battery technology based on zinc-iron liquid flow has the advantages of safety, green and suitable for large-scale and long-term energy storage applications.
In addition to zinc-iron flow batteries, in the first half of this year, China's first megawatt iron-chromium flow battery energy storage demonstration project was also successfully trial-run earlier this year. As previously reported by CTOnews.com, the project has been successfully piloted in Inner Mongolia and will be put into commercial use, setting a new record for the largest capacity of the technology in the world.
