Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, Oct. 27-Mark Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported earlier this month that Apple is working on a new system that allows employees to upgrade iPhone's iOS without unpacking.

According to the report of foreign science and technology media 9to5Mac, in the Xcode 15.1 Beta released by Apple today, three internal frameworks, FactoryOTALogger, FactoryOTANetworkUtils and FactoryOTAWifiUtils, have been found in iOS 17.2 Beta 1 SDK, which can update wireless OTA firmware through special external devices.

In previous reports, CTOnews.com shared the relevant scenes as follows:

The first iPhone 15 models shipped with a built-in iOS 17, but when users bought it, a new version of the iOS 17.0.1 or later was available. This means that users may have to take the time to update the software after unpacking the newly bought iPhone box.

With regard to this initiative, Mark Gurman revealed that Apple has developed a specialized device in the shape of a cushion, on which retail stores can put unopened iPhone, which can then connect wirelessly, wake up iPhone, and then automatically download and install the latest version of iOS to complete software updates and finally shut down.

The report says this feature is currently clearly marked as an internal feature to install the latest iOS updates on sealed iPhone devices to avoid initial problems such as iPhone 15 migration failures.
