New feature: Copilot preview in Windows

Microsoft began to launch a preview version of Copilot in Windows for Windows Preview experience members on the Canary channel. Launched on the Canary channel to insiders in the selected market below, this feature will be gradual, so some preview members will not see it immediately.

The initial opening areas of the Copilot preview include North America, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia and South America.

Users can use Copilot to get help summarizing web pages, composing emails, changing settings to dark mode, or generating images of unique ideas in the user's mind.

SMB client encryption begins with this version (Build 25982), and SMB now supports encryption of all outbound SMB client connections. With this new option, administrators can force all target servers to use SMB 3 and encryption, and without these features, clients will not be able to connect. This enhances the highest level of network security and brings administrative equality to SMB signatures, thus meeting the requirements of clients and servers.

What to improve: Web Discovery of Network-designated Resolvers (DNR) is an upcoming Internet standard for discovering encrypted DNS servers.

Until today, Windows Insiders users must find the IP address of the encrypted DNS server they need and enter it manually to configure client encrypted DNS on their computers.

DNR will enable Windows Insider users to use encrypted DNS protocols such as DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT) on the client side without manual configuration.

Client support for DNR is now available in Windows Insiders Insider Preview Build 25982 and later.

The Dev DriveWindows replication engine now provides support for ReFS file system block cloning. This feature adds native support for replication operations on Windows and API, and improves the performance of ReFS volumes, including Dev Drive volumes used to build scenes or any other replication-intensive scenarios, and the larger the file replicated, the more space is saved.

Remote Desktop has updated remote Desktop connection (mstsc.exe) and now supports 350%, 400%, 450%, and 500% zoom options.

If the setting is in light mode, the display accent color on the start menu and taskbar toggle will be grayed out by design, and Microsoft will now display an informational bullet to let users know more clearly that the setting is only available in Windows dark mode.

Fixed content: fixed an issue that caused voice access to crash when people inside the Canary preview version dictated the text.

Fixed some problems that might cause hangs when starting File Explorer.

Fixed an issue that made the print queue inaccessible and displayed an error when trying to open it.

Known problem: some popular games may not work properly on the Canary preview.
