CTOnews.com October 26 news, Valve today officially released SteamVR 2.0, a month after the launch of SteamVR 2.0 beta in September. Officials say the introduction of all exciting new features on the Steam platform into VR in this release is the first step in a sustained effort to better unify the Steam ecosystem for all users and provide a more consistent experience across devices, and this update also enables it to add new Steam features faster and more frequently in the future.

SteamVR 2.0 has been brewing for a long time, and Valve said in a Steam article in its year-end 2019 review that it was "working hard" to develop the update.

Most of the current features of Steam and Steam Deck are now part of SteamVR

Updated keyboard to support dual cursor input, new languages, emoticons and themes

CTOnews.com noted that Valve is rumored to be developing some kind of new VR header display, and that a mysterious device passed South Korean radio certification in September, which could mean some kind of upcoming hardware. And Valve is also reported to be developing an independent VR header named "Deckard", which, if released, will compete with Meta's independent Quest VR headers.
