CTOnews.com Meta's social platform Threads is gaining momentum, and ceo mark zuckerberg revealed Threads 'latest figures today on Meta's quarterly earnings call, saying the service currently has "nearly" 100 million monthly active users.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Threads launched in July, when the app attracted 100 million users in just a few days. While that growth rate is expected to have slowed, which is what happens to any rapidly popular product, Zuckerberg said the service still has nearly 100 million monthly active users.

It is worth mentioning that Threads is not currently available in the EU.

According to The Verge, Zuckerberg also reiterated Meta's goal today to make Threads "an open conversation app with 1 billion users" and "a bit more positive" than some competitors. According to Zuckerberg, Threads is moving toward that goal.

"I've long believed there should be an open conversation app with a billion users that's a little more positive than some of the other apps," he said. I think if we stick with it for a few more years, then we have a good chance of achieving our vision. "

This is clearly a provocation to Twitter (currently known as X), which is often criticized for the negative energy of its existence. Elon Musk is also clearly upset with Threads, threatening to sue Meta for hiring some of the employees he fired.
