CTOnews.com October 25 news, battery manufacturer Guoxuan Hi-Tech issued an announcement: it plans to build a battery material project in Michigan and entrusts its wholly-owned subsidiary American Guoxuan to sign the relevant agreement with the Michigan government and other third-party partners.

Guoxuan Hi-Tech said the project plans to invest a total of US $2.364 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 17.281 billion yuan). The purpose of this project is to realize the local independent supply of core raw materials for new energy power and energy storage batteries in North America.

In addition, the Illinois government issued a statement on Sept. 8, announcing that Guoxuan Tech will spend $2 billion to build a new lithium battery factory for electric vehicles in Manteno, Kankakee County, the state, which will create 2600 jobs.

The Illinois plant will focus on lithium-ion battery, battery pack production and energy storage system integration. Upon completion, it is expected to produce 10 GWh lithium-ion battery packs and 40 GWh lithium-ion battery units, which is expected to start production in 2024.
