CTOnews.com, October 25 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft today announced its fiscal first quarter of 2024 (third quarter of 2023), showing revenue from Xbox's gaming business unit was $3.919 billion, up 9% from a year earlier and an increase of $309 million over the same period last year.

Looking back at Microsoft's 22-year history, excluding the Christmas shopping season, Xbox set a record for revenue in a single quarter and the highest revenue in the first quarter of the year.

The revenue growth of Xbox's gaming business unit was mainly due to content and services, up 9 per cent from a year earlier, according to Microsoft's 10murQ document submitted to SEC. Activision Blizzard's revenue is not included in the Xbox data, and once taken into account, we expect quarterly revenue to increase by more than $1 to $2 billion.
