CTOnews.com, October 25, according to the National Space Administration, on October 23, 2023, Zhang Kejian, director of the China National Space Administration, and Gusakov, president of the Presidium of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences, jointly signed the "Joint statement of the China National Space Administration and the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences on Cooperation in International Lunar Research stations", marking Belarus's formal participation in the International Lunar Research Station program.

According to the joint statement, the two sides will carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation in the construction and operation of the International Lunar Research Station, including the application of space technology, new materials and electronic components, and the education and training of researchers and experts.

The National Space Administration said that China and Belarus have a long history of space cooperation, and the Chinese side has developed and launched a "Baixing-1" communications satellite and provided small scientific and educational satellite launch services for Belarus. The signing of the joint statement marks the expansion of China-Belarus space cooperation from communications and remote sensing to lunar and deep space exploration, which will become a new starting point for China-Belarus space cooperation and an important embodiment of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Belarus.

At present, China is speeding up the promotion of the large scientific project of the International Lunar Research Station, and plans to achieve a manned landing on the moon by 2030.

The International Lunar Research Station, led by China, took the lead in signing a memorandum of understanding with Russia in 2021 to cooperate in the construction of the International Lunar Research Station, followed by the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Belarus and other countries and institutions.

The International Lunar Research Station is a major engineering cooperation project, which will build scientific experimental facilities on the lunar surface and lunar orbit, and carry out multi-disciplinary and multi-objective scientific research activities. including lunar self-exploration and utilization, moon-based observation, basic scientific experiments and technical verification, long-term independent operation, long-term participation.

According to a report given by academician Wu Weiren, chief designer of the Chinese lunar exploration project and director of the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory, the International Lunar Research Station will be implemented in three stages:

It is planned to build the basic model by 2028 and carry out experimental verification of lunar environmental exploration and resource utilization.

A perfect type will be built by 2040 to carry out sun-earth-moon space environment exploration and scientific experiments, and to build a magpie bridge integrated constellation to serve manned lunar landing and deep space exploration such as Mars and Venus.

After that, an applied lunar research station was built, which was gradually upgraded from a scientific research experimental station to a practical and multi-functional lunar base.

Referring to CTOnews.com 's previous report, Li Guoping, chief engineer of NASA, presented the fourth phase of China's lunar exploration project, deep space exploration / sampling return launch table, during the plenary session of the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Next, China will gradually realize the following space exploration missions:

Magpie Bridge No.2 Relay Star launched in March 2024

Chang'e-6 was launched in 2024

Asteroid samples returned to Tianwen-2 launched in 2025

Chang'e 7 was launched in 2026.

Chang'e-8 was launched in 2028

Mars sampling Tianwen 3 was launched in 2028.

Jupiter probe Tianyan 4 was launched in 2030

China launches manned lunar landing in 2030
