CTOnews.com, October 25 (Xinhua)-- NASA is accelerating its Artemis II mission. All four RS-25 engines have been installed and are expected to be launched in November 2024, which will power the NASA manned moon landing mission Artemis (Artemis).

NASA conducted its first Hot Fire Test (hot fire test) on October 17, firing for 550s and completing a series of key tests.

The video also shows how the engine will power NASA's next-generation lunar mission in the Artemis mission. The four engines are located at the bottom of the core stage of a large SLS rocket and can generate more than 2 million pounds of thrust during lift-off.

All four RS-25 engines are located in the engine compartment at the bottom of the core stage, which protects the engine from extreme temperatures during launch and has an air-powered stern fairing to guide the airflow. During launch and flight, the four engines will ignite uninterrupted for more than eight minutes, consuming propellant in the two huge propellant tanks of the core stage at a speed of 1500 gallons (5678 liters) per second.
