CTOnews.com news on October 24, SAIC Zhengzhou New Energy Battery Factory groundbreaking ceremony was held in Zhengzhou base, the power battery project was launched in July in Jingkai District, Zhengzhou. It is reported that the total investment of the project is 2 billion yuan, the production capacity of 300000 sets of power batteries is planned, and the annual output value exceeds 10 billion yuan after it is put into production.

CTOnews.com noted that Zhengzhou base is the third vehicle production base for SAIC passenger cars after Lingang and Nanjing, and the first and second phases of the whole vehicle project, SAIC Cloud Computing (Zhengzhou) data center project, and Zhengzhou engine Phase I and Phase II projects have successively landed and advanced rapidly. Since it was put into production in September 2017, the Zhengzhou base has produced and sold more than 1.5 million cars and created an output value of more than 100 billion.

It is worth mentioning that SAIC sold 482000 vehicles wholesale in September, of which 102000 new energy vehicles were delivered at terminals (up 29.6 percent year on year and 18.8 percent month on month), and 105000 vehicles were sold wholesale in overseas markets. From January to September, the delivery volume of SAIC new energy vehicle terminals reached 683000, an increase of 18.2% over the same period last year.
