From October 21 to 22, the 2023 CCF China Open Source Conference (hereinafter referred to as "the Conference") was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, sponsored by the Chinese computer Society and the Open Atom Open Source Association, and hosted by the CCF Open Source Development Committee and Hunan Advanced Technology Research Institute. In the new era, closed development model has been difficult to produce subversive innovation, open source / open innovation will be the only way to the world of Wisdom.

Gong said that Huawei has been investing continuously around root technologies such as computing and connectivity to develop the entire industrial ecology through open source software and open hardware. let more partners participate in this innovation of digital and intelligent products and solutions. In terms of software open source, Huawei has actively participated in, integrated into and contributed to open source since 2008. Huawei has continued to cultivate in the direction of open source, such as key basic software, emerging industrial direction, industrial basic capabilities, open source ecological cultivation, and so on. Through open source strategy, Huawei has continued to build the technology base of the Alliance of everything, not only participating in 25 global mainstream open source conferences, such as Apache, Linux, Open Atomic Open Source, etc. It has also contributed more than 120 upstream software and a number of mainstream open source projects, ranking first among many mainstream open source projects and becoming an important open source contributor.

Not only that, Huawei also relies on more than 30 years of ICT technology accumulation and 15 years of open source experience, continues to build the pillars of basic software, and launched more than 20 open source basic software projects, such as OpenHarmony, openEuler, openGauss, etc., to promote "Yemao" with "deep roots", and further consolidate the digital infrastructure base to enable the intelligent world of everything.

Open source co-construction of OpenHarmony   enables innovation in all industries

Starting from 2020, Huawei will contribute the basic capabilities of the intelligent terminal operating system HarmonyOS to the Open Atomic Open Source Conference. The OpenHarmony open source project will be formed by integrating the contributions of other co-builders.

As a major contributor and user of OpenHarmony, Huawei has been committed to building OpenHarmony into the digital base of the IoT world, enabling the digital transformation of thousands of industries. On the one hand, Huawei has built an intelligent terminal operating system HarmonyOS; for Huawei terminal consumers based on OpenHarmony, on the other hand, Huawei continues to enable partners to build third-party commercial distributions and industry solutions based on OpenHarmony, and has entered many industries such as education, transportation, government affairs and so on.

OpenHarmony continues to prosper with the continued contribution of its co-building partners and has become the root community of the next generation of smart terminal operating systems and the digital base of the Internet of everything. Up to now, 51 co-builders and more than 5500 co-builders have accumulated more than 100 million lines of code. more than 400 software and hardware products have passed the compatibility evaluation and landed in many industries, such as education, transportation, aerospace, industry, and so on.
