CTOnews.com October 23 news, China Meteorological Administration today held Fengyun-3 G satellite (CTOnews.com hereinafter referred to as "G star") in-orbit test (the first phase) summary review meeting, summarized and evaluated the first phase of G satellite in-orbit test results, promote G satellite business operation.

China Meteorological Administration said that G satellite, as China's first low-inclination orbital precipitation measurement satellite, has great significance and important role, and has received extensive attention at home and abroad.

During the on-orbit test, G satellite has been tested and applied in meteorological service guarantee for major events such as high impact weather analysis in flood season, Chengdu Universiade and Hangzhou Asian Games according to the principle of testing, summarizing, applying and serving at the same time, and has achieved good application results, and has also exerted application benefits in serving the international community.

According to the review of the meeting, G satellite has completed 212 test contents of 7 subsystems such as satellite data transmission channel and attitude orbit control, 107 test contents of 4 service loads and 2 remote sensing instruments, complete test data, stable and reliable performance of each subsystem, indicators meeting user requirements, and meeting on-orbit delivery and operational conditions.

Officials also pointed out that the current G satellite ground system business software system is running stably, and has released G satellite first-class product (L1) trial data.

The meeting also requested that the domestic and international sharing of G satellite data should be improved, the application of achievements should be promoted, personnel training should be strengthened, and the potential of satellite data service resources should be fully released; at the same time, all units of meteorological departments should strengthen active interaction linkage, adhere to innovation drive, promote the integration of G satellite into existing business system, and systematically promote the improvement of meteorological satellite application capability.
