Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, October 23 (Xinhua)-- the American Highway loss data Institute (HDLI) released a report on car theft rate in 2022, revealing an interesting fact: Tesla Model 3 AWD is the least stolen car in the United States.

The HDLI report lists the relative claim frequency (RCF) score for each model, which is based on the proportion of the number of insured and stolen claims for each model. According to HDLI, Tesla Model 3 AWD has the lowest RCF score.

There is a table in HDLI's report showing that Tesla Model 3 AWD has a RCF score of 3, with only 3 claims. It was followed by Tesla Model Y AWD,RCF with a score of 3 and 5 claims. Other Tesla models are also among the best, such as Tesla Model X AWD (RCF score 8 with 2 claims), Tesla Model 3 RWD (RCF score 9 with 6 claims) and Tesla Model S AWD (RCF score 15 with 4 claims).

Instead, the most vulnerable model was the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats, with a RCF score of 65.128 and 196 claims. This was followed by the Dodge Charger HEMI,RCF score of 2J 197 with 712 claims. Honda CR-V 4WD has a RCF score of 409 and has as many as 1141 claims.

There may be many reasons for Tesla's low RCF score, and Tesla's electric car itself is difficult to steal. Every Tesla can be connected to the Internet, so it is easy to track these vehicles, and its security features such as PIN to Drive also make it difficult for people without owners' credentials to drive Tesla.

CTOnews.com noted that in April 2019, Tesla Model S of a Canadian leasing company was rented by customers and shipped abroad, which was successfully recovered by Interpol and Italian police during a transit flight in Italy. Throughout the process, the owner of the Model S was able to track the location of the car, even if it was at sea.
