CTOnews.com October 23, Bloomberg's Mark Goolman reported in the latest "Power On" newsletter that Apple plans to invite some retail employees to its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters in early 2024 to let them know about the Vision Pro head display in advance and prepare for the launch of the device.

Gurman revealed the details of the "product training event". Apple recently sent a memo to retail employees asking them to apply for this "mysterious" event, with participants going through the application and interview process. Excerpts from the memorandum are as follows:

The selected team members will travel to Cupertino, California for an event in the first few months of 2024. After returning to their retail store, they will provide training and continuous support to other employees in the store. For those who are keen to showcase Apple products and teach others, this is a collective opportunity.

Goolman explained that the purpose of the event is to teach employees about Vision Pro and to train them on how to sell such complex equipment to customers. Apple hopes to have several employees at every US retail store to attend the event, and then go back to the local store to teach their colleagues about Vision Pro.

The launch of the Vision Pro is expected to be the most complex in Apple's history. Apple plans to assemble customers' Vision Pro headsets in retail stores and choose suitable headbands, light seals and optional prescription lenses according to their needs. Flagship retail stores will set up a special Vision Pro experience area, while other retailers will only receive one or two devices.

Goolman believes that the wording in the memo shows that the device will not be ready at the beginning of the new year. CTOnews.com noted that Apple had previously only said that the Vision Pro would be released "early" in 2024.
