CTOnews.com, October 22, YouTube recently upgraded its anti-ad blocking measures. Users use ad blocking tools such as uBlock Origin, or enable "strict" tracking protection mode in Edge browsers, which will pop up anti-ad blocking prompts when playing videos.

CTOnews.com found that as early as May 2023, Google had been testing an anti-ad blocking experimental feature for YouTube, which would pop up when it detected that some users were using an ad blocker and would not be able to access the site unless they disabled the ad blocker or subscribed to YouTube Premium.

The source @ endermanch recently tweeted that it had found an easy way to bypass YouTube anti-advertising blocking by simply changing the browser UA to Windows Phone.

Users can switch UA to Windows Phone through Google's official extension, and then visit the YouTube page without popping up when playing the video.

However, YouTube may later "fix" the problem, blocking the way UA bypasses anti-ad blocking.
