CTOnews.com, October 20, Excel product manager Chirag Fifadra recently posted a blog post that improved the automatic data conversion settings introduced last year, which are now available to users of Windows and macOS platforms.

Users can open File > options > data > automatic data conversion (Automatic Data Conversion) in the Excel application, and users can continue to disable one or more automatic conversion options.

CTOnews.com attached the automatic conversion features as follows:

Clears the content in the text format that causes the numeric value to become 0 and converts it to a numeric format.

The numerical data is truncated to 15-digit precision and converted into numbers that can be displayed in scientific notation.

Convert the numeric data around the letter "E" into numbers displayed in scientific notation.

Converts consecutive alphanumeric strings to dates.

There is currently a known problem with this feature because disabling conversions during macro execution will not work. There is no information on when or whether the problem will be solved.
