According to reports, Xiaopeng Huitian flying car traveler X2 flew at an altitude of 50 meters, several groups of large parachutes ejected and expanded rapidly, X2 descended slowly, landed smoothly at a grounding speed of 5.2 meters per second, and the body was intact.

Xiaopeng Huitian said that the safety equipment development team began the independent development of the whole machine multi-umbrella life-saving system in 2021, and the self-developed multi-umbrella life-saving system installed in this test has a maximum bearing weight of 1 ton. with ultra-low altitude open umbrellas, combined multi-umbrellas, redundant system architecture, embedded safety life-saving display and control panel and other pioneering features.

The technology supports ultra-low altitude parachute opening below 50 meters, and is suitable for fixed-wing aircraft, new vertical take-off and landing aircraft, etc.; it adopts modular and fast disassembly design, supports multi-umbrella distributed installation layout, and supports joint trigger with other safety life-saving equipment (such as whole aircraft buffer airbag).

In addition, the whole machine multi-umbrella life-saving system as a special life-saving equipment, the electrical, control, propulsion and other functions of the equipment adopt the multi-channel system safety design, and consider the fault isolation from other key airborne equipment.

The equipment also has its own safety life-saving display and control panel, which has the functions of self-test warning, time life maintenance, parameter setting, software and hardware upgrade and so on.
