According to CTOnews.com news on October 19, TSMC announced its third-quarter results on October 19. net revenue in the third quarter was 546.73 billion New Taiwan dollars, down 10.8 percent from a year earlier, up 13.7 percent from a year earlier. Third-quarter net profit was 210.8 billion New Taiwan dollars, down 25.0 percent from a year earlier, up 16.0 percent from a month earlier.

TSMC's gross profit margin for the quarter was 54.3%, operating profit margin was 41.7%, and net profit margin was 38.6%. In the third quarter, shipments of 3 nanometers accounted for 6 percent of total wafer revenue, 37 percent for 5 nanometers, 37 percent for 7 nanometers, and 16 percent for 7 nanometers.

TSMC said capital expenditure was $7.1 billion in the third quarter, compared with $8.17 billion in the previous quarter.

TSMC's Taipei-listed shares fell 27.1% in 2022, but have risen about 22% so far this year, and the chipmaker's market capitalization now stands at $432.3 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 3.16 trillion yuan).
