CTOnews.com, Oct. 19, according to a list published by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Microsoft has been granted a technology patent that can dynamically map users' limb and joint movements in a virtual world to further enhance the immersion experience.

If Microsoft's technology can be applied to head-display devices, users can create surreal virtual selves and improve immersive experiences in different scenarios such as social networking and games.

According to the patent description, CTOnews.com briefly summarizes the working principle of the patent as follows:

Data about the location of different body parts of human users are received through sensors.

Set up relevant rules to connect the virtual model and the header wearer (mapping constraints).

Position data and mapping constraints are used to estimate the attitude of both the model and the target.

The technique also uses a machine trained to optimize posture, which uses positioning data with correct model representation tags for training.

Finally, it displays the target representation and its posture as a virtual representation of the human user.
