During the internal audit, Apple found that six App Store auditors and editors had suspicious behavior, so it launched an investigation.

Apple found that these employees accepted free catering and travel services from developers and consultants, making their apps more visible.

The employees involved in this survey do not have the right to approve applications, nor do they have the right to add or remove App Store apps, but they can increase the attention of a certain App Store and bring more views to the app.

CTOnews.com note: there is no mention in the report of whether the employees involved have recommended applications from developers with whom they are improperly interacting.

An Apple spokesman said in a statement that Apple wants employees to abide by its business behavior policy:
