CTOnews.com, October 18 (Xinhua) Volkswagen Group is currently accelerating the electrification transformation. From January to September this year, Volkswagen Group delivered 531500 pure electric vehicles worldwide, an increase of 45% over the same period last year, accounting for 7.9% of the group's total sales, up from 6.1% in the same period last year.

In the third quarter of this year, Volkswagen delivered 2.3437 million vehicles worldwide, up 7.4 per cent from a year earlier, and global pure electric vehicle sales rose 40.5 per cent to 209900, accounting for 9.0 per cent of the group's total sales, up from 6.8 per cent a year ago, according to its website.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that Volkswagen Group cut its global sales target for 2023 in July and expects full-year delivery of between 9 million and 9.5 million vehicles, compared with a previous forecast of about 9.5 million.

Volkswagen Group delivered 298800 vehicles in China in September, down 0.9% from the same period last year.

Volkswagen lowered its annual sales forecast due to the poor performance of the Chinese market.
