According to reports, "Echelon" refers to a trapezoidal flight queue, which has high aerodynamic efficiency and can save energy consumption. At the same time, "Echelon" also has a derivative meaning of "selected category". The name reflects HACI's vision for the future of business jets: efficiency first, comfort always.

CTOnews.com Inquiry learned that HondaJet Echelon (formerly known as HondaJet 2600 Concept) made its debut in 2021 with the goal of uninterrupted flights across the American continent and support for solo driving, with the aim of reducing operating costs and enhancing the flight experience for users.

In addition, HondaJet Echelon's avionics system will adopt electrification and automation technology to optimize the driving experience, reduce the burden on pilots and improve operational safety.

HACI earlier disclosed HondaJet Echelon's commercialization plan and released a list of key suppliers. As HondaJet Echelon development advances, HACI releases key developments:

The first structure testing equipment of HondaJet Echelon has been put into use.

HACI has completed the conceptual design phase and preliminary design review (PDR) of the aircraft.

On August 30, 2023, HondaJet Echelon's Advanced system Integration Test Facility (ASITF) was officially launched.

The detailed design phase is under way and a critical design review (CDR) is expected to take place next summer.

A long-cycle manufacturing task is already in progress.

HondaJet Echelon will be produced at existing facilities at HACI's headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Initial production of the first aircraft is expected to begin in mid-2024, maiden flight is scheduled for 2026, and airworthiness certification is expected to be completed in 2028.

The maximum capacity of HondaJet Echelon is 1 crew + 10 passengers, 2 crew + 9 passengers, MBAA IFR is about 4862 km, the maximum cruising speed is about 833km / h, and the maximum cruising altitude is about 14326 m.
