CTOnews.com October 18 news, programmer development website Programiz today released a survey report, pointing out the impact of ChatGPT on the field of programming education and the corresponding level.

It is reported that 10000 people participated in the survey, who came from more than 50 countries and regions around the world. 58% of the respondents were students, and more than half of them had less than one year's programming experience.

CTOnews.com learned from the survey report that the main highlights of the official report are as follows:

62% of respondents use ChatGPT to learn programming several times a week.

Seventy-five percent of respondents believe that ChatGPT has improved their programming learning experience.

30% of respondents think that ChatGPT is better than college classroom lectures.

More than 36% of people prefer ChatGPT to Google search engine.

Eighty-four percent of respondents believe that educational institutions should adjust their programming courses for ChatGPT.

Nearly 75 per cent of respondents said they were "improving their skills" or "planning to improve their skills" in response to the impact of ChatGPT on the job market.

More than 33.3% of respondents experienced "some changes" at work as a result of ChatGPT.

Sixty-seven percent of respondents use ChatGPT as their main source or auxiliary tool for learning programming.

Most respondents use ChatGPT to understand programming concepts.

Only 6 per cent of respondents reported that ChatGPT's response did not meet their learning needs.

The main challenge when learning programming with ChatGPT is the "response irrelevance" of the AI tool or the "inconsistency" of the response content (54%).

30% think ChatGPT is better than their college lectures.

34% of respondents have experienced some changes or changes in their work as a result of ChatGPT. 15% of them switched to different roles or jobs after their work was greatly affected.

51% of respondents believe that job substitution caused by ChatGPT is most likely to occur in the field of Web development.
