Reported that this Chang 'an Automobile plans to build a factory in Thailand, located in Thailand Rayong Province Weihua East Coast Industrial Park Zone 4, covering an area of about 600 mu, the first phase design capacity can reach 100,000 vehicles, reserved capacity expansion design.

Changan Automobile's new factory in Thailand will produce pure electric vehicles (BEV), extended range electric vehicles (REEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and sell them in Thailand and export markets, including ASEAN countries, as well as Australia, new Zealand, the United Kingdom and South Africa. In addition, Changan Automobile also plans to establish a research and development center for important parts here for future automobile development.

Narit Therdsteerasukdi, secretary general of the Investment Committee, revealed that the application was made after leading BOI to visit Chongqing at the end of June and meeting with Chang 'an Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong and the company's management team. Narit said Changan Automobile began exploring investment opportunities in Thailand in 2020 and has held frequent talks with the Thai Investment Board since then. The company plans to launch electric vehicle models in Thailand by the end of this year and then start local production.

At the end of August this year, Chang 'an Automobile Thailand Subsidiary was established, marking the official establishment of Chang' an Automobile in Thailand.

In April this year, Chang 'an Automobile officially released the overseas strategy "Sea to accept hundreds of rivers" plan. It is planned to achieve the "Four Ones" development goal overseas by 2030, namely, overseas market investment will exceed US $10 billion, annual sales volume in overseas market will exceed 1.2 million, and overseas business employees will exceed 10000, claiming to "build Chang 'an Automobile into a world-class automobile brand".
