CTOnews.com, October 18 (Xinhua) Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion (currently about 502.884 billion yuan) was officially completed last week. Xbox not only won IP such as call of Duty and Diablo, but also strengthened Microsoft's gaming business in the mobile field with the addition of King, the developer of Candy Legend.

Serkan Toto, chief executive of analyst firm Kantan Games, said yesterday: "even though Sony bought Bungie for $3.6 billion (currently about 26.352 billion yuan), Sony is still under a lot of pressure from Microsoft's successful acquisition of Activision Blizzard."

Serkan Toto believes that Sony will step up its efforts to invest in and acquire third-party game makers in the future to compete with Microsoft.

Karol Severin, a senior game analyst at Midia Research, said it would be more and more difficult for Sony to compete with Microsoft simply in games by suggesting that Sony take advantage of its existing advantages in film, music and games through new subscription services.

If Sony wants to stand out, it can only buy a third-party manufacturer of the size of Take-Two, but it is almost impossible for Sony to acquire Take-Two with a market capitalization of $24.6 billion (CTOnews.com Note: about 180.072 billion yuan), so Sony is using its own advantage to strengthen its PS Plus subscription service is the "best answer" to compete with Microsoft.
